Since late 2010, I have been publishing interviews with travel personalities and people who just love travel. All have interesting travel stories and tips to share.
From the first interview in December 2010, I have asked each person for a travel mantra of 8 words or less. Only one person did not provide a travel mantra (Samantha Brown, time constraint) and a few did not stick to the 8 word limit. I was fortunate to meet and speak with some of my interview subjects in person—including Samantha Brown and Pauline Frommer—while others responded via email. You have definitely heard of some of these personalities but I bet you do not know them all; unless, of course, you read all their travel interviews here!
Here are 24 great travel mantras, from the first 25 McCool Travel interviews—and a couple of previously unpublished photos! Each person’s name links to their profile interview on McCoolTravel.com.

Love this! Mine would be, “Life’s a beach. Travel more.” 🙂
Thank you, Elizabeth. Love it!
Life’s a journey… bring a camera
Wonderful. Thank you, Rick.
I have been thinking about this a lot! I think mine would be “Life’s too short to wait at the baggage claim.” But it’s 9 words! Does that count? 🙂
Thank you, Valerie. Cut out the “the” and we have 8 words! Good?
“Travel strengthens family” would be my mantra. It’s why we use travel to see family members more often and to experience new things with family members! I love this list of mantras!
Love your manta, Tami.
This quote really resonates with me. Don’t overplan, leave room for exploration. – Jim Kovarik The older I get the more I realize how important that is.
Thank you, Lara. It is a good one.
Samantha Brown, also known as the luckiest girl in the world! 😉

Love all the quotes!!! I always love “I haven’t been everywhere but its on my list”
One of my favorites.
