For McCool Travel’s 91st travel interview, I am excited to present Andrea Feczko. Andrea is a popular online and onscreen personality. She is a YouTube sensation and is in front of the camera for many shows. If you have not already seen Vacation Chasers, with her friend Rachel Rudwall (my interview last week), set your DVR or catch it online. They are funny and entertaining, along with being creative and well-traveled.

Hometown…
Troy, Michigan
Always in my luggage…
I always have my high top wedge sneakers wherever I go—if it’s for an episode of Vacation Chasers or through the airport—I am always in them! I also always bring two scarves on the plane, because they make a great pillow and/or blanket. And I bring lots of emergen-c. I don’t get many days off anymore so I want to make sure I’m healthy and up for adventure wherever I go!
3 favorite home-away-from-home places…
- New York City will always be home. I went to uni there and absolutely fell in love with the City. It may or may not have had anything to do with my obsession with Sex and The City at the time.
- Ibiza is the home I wish I had! I’m really into the dance music scene, but also the beaches are hard to beat!
- And I love Sydney. It’s the first place I ever visited and the people are absolutely amazing. I love Australians. I want to be Australian. I am trying to be a good girl so I can come back as an Australian.
A favorite travel memory is…
Well, now that I think about it, one of my favorite travel memories was when I was 14. I had just taken my first international flight from Michigan to Sydney and went straight to a McDonald’s. I know, so American. But, the woman at the cashier said “What would you like, Love?” It was the first person, besides a family member, that ever said the L word to me. Of course, it wasn’t meant in anyway besides a casual greeting, but I thought, if this is how people speak to you at a McDonald’s in this country, then I am sold to the highest bidder!
3 favorite travel brands…
3 money-saving travel tactics I use are…
- I am a firm believer in collecting points and loyalty reward programs. I’ve gotten a lot of free upgrades thanks to them!
- I also always bring snacks, because spending $50 on a room service breakfast is not the way I want to start my day.
- Lastly, I try to use Uber X or the metro in as many places as possible—transportation adds up.
3 ways that I have fun while traveling are…
- Eating.
- Drinking.
- Shopping. Underneath it all, I’m a simple girl.
8 word (or less) travel mantra…
Be in the moment.
Favorite non-travel website …
Oh, I love me some dailymail.co.uk. It’s my guilty pleasure website, and there is sometimes nothing more freeing than turning off your brain and looking at a bunch of pictures for a while!

Most memorable souvenir …
I collect jewelry wherever I go. My grandmother has this gorgeous ring from Brazil and it inspired me to make every piece from a different place. The most important one, though, was my first ring. I bought a small ruby ring in the Bahamas after an especially terrible break up and it reminded me that life goes on and that I deserve to buy gifts for myself and reward myself for simply getting through the day some days.
Favorite cheap eat …
In and Out. I’ve become so Californian

Recent discovery …
I do not do well with the Asian time zones! I used to pride myself on adjusting to any and every time zone.
I am fortunate to have met …
So many people. Some people come into your life for a while, some people come in for a flash, and both can have a tremendous impact.
I would like to meet …
The Dalai Lama and one of those Costa Rican sloths I always watch YouTube videos on!

Travel and humor make a great combination; sounds like Andrea lives the magic formula.
Great formula!
Andrea is very “telegenic” as well! You didn’t mention that but it shoes in the pictures:-)
Thank you. I forgot to mention many things. You will just have to read the other 91 interviews for countless surprises!
Cool, McCool! Entertaining and informative!
Thank you!
Wow – how can anyone be that busy and still look that good?! She sounds like a hardworking, nice person. I’ll keep an eye out for her on TV.
Ah, youth.
Sounds like she is having a blast! I love that kesha parody by the way haha.

😀
I’d never heard of Andrea Feczko before this interview. Now I’ll keep my eyes open to see her on TV.
Thank you for the note, Carole.
Andrea certainly has the whole package. I was tired just reading about her accomplishments. I was recently introduced to her show thru Rachel who was traveling with a mutual friend. The two have a great on camera relationship and I love to see talented women supporting each other. I’m sure they both have great futures ahead of them.
You met Rachel? Lucky!
I’m also a great fan of UberX!
Good to know. I have not tried it but nice to hear there are fans.
